Interviews with employees

Although I’m not good with words, I switched to a sales position
because I wanted to make use of the English I’d learned.

T.T

Please describe your work in detail.
My work is centered on sales, promotion, and marketing of commercial products (brake parts).
Basic operations include receiving orders from customers, placing orders with manufacturers, and ensuring delivery dates and quality control until products reach to customers.
We also respond to the detailed requests from our customers flexibly.
Since we have customers not only in Japan but also overseas, we are also doing export business, arranging shipping services and preparing export documents.
In terms of marketing, we communicate with our customers daily and actively participate in various domestic and international industry events in order to get market needs more quickly and accurately.

I’m in charge of brake parts for motorcycles, and I went to Italy to visit EICMA, the world’s largest motorcycle exhibition last year.

Information obtained through marketing is fed back to manufacturers and new products are developed jointly with manufacturers.
Sales is a very rewarding position because you will have opportunities to interact with a variety of people and exposed to various things and knowledge.
You will gain experience in a variety of situations and you can feel yourself growing everyday.

Why did you join Daishin Sangyo?
I used to work for another company as a contract employee and when my contract was terminated, I joined Nichiei Sangyo, a group company of Daishin Sangyo.
I was involved in packing operations then. One day, I was watching a TV program featuring Manhattan and I really wanted to go there, so I started studying English.
The president of Daishin Sangyo found about it and asked me “If you want to use English, why don’t you come to Daishin Sangyo and become a salesperson?”
I’m not good with words and couldn’t be a salesperson, but I decided to transfer because I wouldn’t grow if I avoided things not good at.
What do you like about Daishin Sangyo?
Although our trading company is small in size, I think it’s easy for employees to communicate with each other because of it.
The workload per person may be heavy, but people around you will help without being asked.
I myself have been helped many times.
I think it’s a great place to be involved in a variety of jobs and improve my skills.
What are your future goals?
I’d like to learn more English and become a person who can actively promote Daishin’s products to overseas customers and acquire new customers.
I’d like to be able to get a perfect score on the Eiken or TOEIC.

Please give a message to those who are thinking about employment.

We are a company where you can challenge yourself in many different ways.
The bosses and the president listen to their employees and give them advice.
This is a good company with a good environment, so please apply for a job.

S.A

Please describe your work in detail.
I manage the company’s equipment, arrange lunch for all employees, and manage company uniforms.
My department is not only general affairs but also human resources and accounting, so payroll and typing up vouchers are part of my duties.
I also do payroll for group companies, so I’m pretty much a jack-of-all-trades.
Why did you join Daishin Sangyo?
I worked in finance for about 10 years, but left when I got married.
I then registered with a temp agency to resume work.
I decided to join Daishin Sangyo because I didn’t mind reading and organizing documents, and I thought I could use my experience from my previous job dealing with money-related matters.
What do you like about Daishin Sangyo?
Everyone is friendly here.
When things gets tough, this company has an atmosphere of helping each other across department, and our president is frank, so it’s a comfortable place to work.
It’s easy to take a sudden leave of absence, and there are some long holidays to refresh yourself.
What are your future goals?
There’s still so much to learn…
I’d like to be able to figure out and do the work that I’m currently doing with the help of my boss, and be able to do it on my own.

Please give a message to those who are thinking about employment.

Everyone is willing to teach the work.
In a typical company, you might think you will make them angry if you keep asking.
but at Daishin, they teach you politely from the beginning.
So you can join us with no experience.
We hope you will join us!

Interviews with employees

I joined the company because I wanted to do a job where I could think for myself, not just do what I was told.

Y.I

Please describe your work in detail.
The operations department is responsible for packing and shipping incoming goods according to customer specifications.
I’m assigned as chief of staff, so my main job is to manage the packing operations rather than do actual packing.
I plan how I will assemble the packaging for incoming goods, considering delivery dates, available warehouse space, how I will assign people, etc., and then proceed with the actual preparations.
Why did you join Daishin Sangyo?
Previously, I worked in the planning department of a major consumer electronics manufacturer.
My main job was to gather the people in charge of each department to hold schedule meetings for the jobs won by the sales, and to make plans and write instructions on what to deliver and how many units to deliver by when, and how to proceed to achieve that goal.
When I thought about working again after I finished raising my children, I chose this company because I wanted to work in a job where I could make my own plans and progress, rather than a job where I was told to do things.
What do you like about Daishin Sangyo?
The best thing about this company is that everyone cooperates with each other.
Everyone responds quickly. It’s also nice we can move quickly when we decide how to go about doing things.
In a large company, things don’t get done without going around and coordinating with various departments.
At Daishin, I can tell everyone what I think, and then implement it right away.
What are your future goals?
Now that Daishin is in a transitional period, I believe new jobs will keep coming in.
I hope that all members of the operations department can share their know-how and build a new way of working together.
I don’t know how many more years I will be able to work, but I’d like to share all the know-how I’ve accumulated so that the next person who takes over my position will have no problem.

Please give a message to those who are thinking about employment.

It is a workplace where we can all improve by sharing the skills we have.
I think this is a company where people who can come up with ideas and make proposals are more successful than those who just do what they are told.
We encourage you to apply.
